Title-Travel RN – Emergency Department (ED)

🏥 Facility: 123-Bed Hospital | Level III Trauma Center | Primary Stroke Center
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join a fast-paced ED team providing care to patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics. The ED handles a wide range of emergency cases including cardiac, trauma, stroke, neurological, and psychiatric patients.
Unit Details
- Unit Size: 14 Beds
- Patient Ratio:Days: 1:4
- Nights: 1:5
- Tech Ratio: 1:10
- Average Patient Types: Chest pain, abdominal pain, stroke, neuro emergencies, trauma activations, STEMI, and air transport AMI patients
- Pediatric Population: ~1%
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience
- First-time travelers are not accepted
Required Certifications
- BLS
- ACLS
- PALS
- TNCC
- NIHSS
Required Skills
- ED triage
- RSI/intubation assistance
- Procedural sedation
- Trauma activations and trauma care
- Stroke alert / neuro criteria management
- STEMI cardiac emergency care
- Blood products / mass transfusion
- Restraints management
Support & Resources
- Respiratory Therapy: 24/7
- Hospitalist Coverage: 24/7
- Mid-Level Providers: 10 AM – 10 PM
- Charge Nurse: Carries patient assignment
- Phlebotomy: Available to assist
- Monitoring: Bedside and nurses’ station telemetry

Scheduling & Orientation
- Orientation: 1 day hospital 1 day unit
- Weekend Rotation: Every 3rd weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
- On-Call: Not required
- Time Off: Up to 7 days (longer requests require approval)
