Key Responsibilities

- Develop and execute a milk sourcing strategy across conventional and organic supply, including co-ops, brokers, and direct farm relationships
- Support the development and execution of a milk hedging program using forward contracts, SWAPS, or CME dairy futures
- Monitor USDA Federal Milk Marketing Order pricing, butter, and NFDM commodity trends, and organic premium dynamics
- Prepare market analysis and sourcing recommendations for leadership based on current conditions
- Ensure supply continuity across all co-manufacturing locations with contingency plans for disruptions and volatility
- Own category strategies for milk, cream, ingredients, and packaging, including cups, lids, films, and corrugate
- Lead supplier selection, RFPs, contract negotiation, and commercial terms
- Drive year-over-year cost savings and value engineering initiatives across all categories
- Partner with R&D, Marketing, and Operations on packaging specs, innovation, and change management
- Build and manage supplier scorecards, performance reviews, and corrective action plans
- Execute daily and weekly replenishment and inventory strategies for dairy, ingredients, and packaging across co-man sites
- Partner with Planning and Operations to maintain appropriate inventory levels
- Manage purchase orders, ERP contract pricing, and supplier data accuracy
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of progressive procurement or sourcing experience in food or CPG manufacturing
- Direct dairy experience required — fluid milk sourcing, conventional and organic supply, and Class II pricing mechanics
- Familiarity with dairy commodity risk management and milk hedging — forward contracts, SWAPS, or CME dairy futures; you understand the mechanics and are ready to build and own the program
- Experience running RFPs, negotiating supplier contracts, and delivering documented cost savings
- Experience sourcing packaging categories, including plastics, film, and corrugate
- Proficiency with ERP systems for contract management, purchase orders, and supplier data
- Background at a smaller dairy or CPG company where broad, cross-functional ownership was the norm
- Experience with both conventional and organic milk sourcing and an understanding of organic premium dynamics and certified supplier networks
- Familiarity with co-manufacturing environments and the supplier relationship management that comes with them
- Experience partnering directly with executive leadership or CFO-level stakeholders on sourcing strategy and market recommendations
