Role Overview:
We are seeking a Compliance Specialist to document, enforce, and resolve safety and risk requirements while supporting driver compliance, audits, incident reporting, and initial claims activity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist drivers with hours-of-service questions, log corrections, device issues, and compliance feedback.
- Research audit reports and violations, document actions, and maintain accurate risk-system records.
- Review paper logs, motor-vehicle records, driver incidents, complaints, coaching, citations, and hazardous-material compliance matters.
- Review accident and risk-event video, preserve relevant footage, and update claim records and risk personnel.
- Respond to driver, claimant, and customer calls involving liability, workers’ compensation, and cargo issues.
- Complete initial claim investigation and triage, clerical work, file management, police-report ordering, and electronic attachments.
- Determine and carry out disciplinary action for hours-of-service violations in accordance with policy.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of DOT rules, safety policies, hours-of-service compliance, and office/database systems.
- Professional listening, customer-service, telephone, interpersonal, communication, organization, deadline, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to relate well with drivers and follow direction from claims and management teams.
- Safety-specialist experience, required safety credentials, and spreadsheet/database familiarity are preferred.
