About the Role:
Honda Development & Manufacturing of America is seeking a Safety Specialist in Greensburg, IN. You will apply occupational safety compliance expertise to innovate machine guarding, conduct risk assessments, lead ergonomic interventions, and cultivate a self-sustaining plant safety culture.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead department safety themes and complex ergonomic improvement projects using PDCA.
• Conduct proactive job safety analyses, confined space evaluations, and machine risk assessments.
• Partner with manufacturing leaders and shop floor safety advocates to drive compliance.
• Interpret and enforce OSHA regulations, EPA standards, and corporate safety manuals.
• Track safety incident metrics, lead incident investigations, and report trends to plant management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, Ergonomics, or related discipline.
• 0-4 years of industrial safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of major health and safety regulations (OSHA, NFPA, ANSI) and injury prevention strategies.
• Strong interpersonal communication, data analysis (Excel), and technical presentation skills.
• Physical capability to perform production floor audits and safety evaluations.
