Role Description The Senior Environment Health Safety Specialist is a full-time, hybrid role based in Indianapolis, IN, with flexibility for some work-from-home arrangements. This role is responsible for overseeing environment, health, and safety programs on construction sites, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Day-to-day tasks include developing and implementing safety policies and procedures, performing site inspections and audits, and leading incident investigations to identify root causes and preventive actions. The specialist will coordinate and deliver safety training, mentor site personnel on safe work practices, and collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to integrate EHS requirements into project planning. The role also involves tracking safety performance metrics, preparing reports, and recommending continuous improvements to enhance workplace safety and occupational health outcomes.

Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Environment Health and Safety (EHS) and Health & Safety skills, with experience designing and managing comprehensive safety programs.
- Candidates should possess Workplace Safety and Safety Training skills, including conducting site inspections, delivering training sessions, and promoting a safety-first culture.
- Candidates should possess Occupational Health skills, with the ability to identify, assess, and control health hazards in construction environments.
- Experience in construction or industrial settings, with knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and relevant state regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CSP, CHST, ASP) are preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and incident investigation skills, with attention to detail and accurate documentation practices.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence diverse teams and lead safety meetings and trainings.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment, manage multiple projects, and travel to job sites in and around Indianapolis, IN as needed.
