Medical Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our Gastroenterology team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our medical staff and ensuring that patients receive high-quality care. This position requires a strong understanding of medical procedures and excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures
• Administer medications as directed by physicians
• Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
• Prepare patients for X-ray procedures and assist in the imaging process
• Maintain accurate patient records and update electronic health records (EHR)
• Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols in a Level II Trauma Center environment
• Support outpatient services by coordinating appointments and follow-ups
• Collaborate with the internal medicine team to provide comprehensive patient care

Experience

• Previous experience in a medical assistant role is preferred, particularly in gastroenterology settings
• Knowledge of physiology and medical terminology is essential
• Familiarity with medication administration protocols is highly desirable
• Experience working in pediatric intensive care units (PICU) or similar environments is a plus
• Proficiency in taking vital signs and performing basic clinical tasks

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour
