Assistant and Floater Teachers - Full and Part-Time Shifts!

Our client is looking for caring, nurturing, and energetic Early Childhood Teachers to join their premier preschool in West Islip, NY. The ideal candidate must be willing to work with children 6-weeks to 5-years-old; as well as be comfortable with diapering and toilet training.

• This is a Direct Hire position with the school
• Full-Time and Part-Time; Monday-Friday; year-round employment

Open Positions

• Assistant Infant Teacher: working with children 6 weeks to 18 months and the shift will be 12:00pm to 6:00pm, Monday through Friday
• Assistant Toddler Teacher: working with children 18 months to 3 years old and the shift will be 8:30am to 5:30pm, Monday through Friday
• Lunch Coverage Floaters: working with children 6 weeks to 5 years old and the shift will be 11:00am to 2:00pm, Monday through Friday
• Before-Care Floater: working with children 6 weeks to 5 years old and the shift will be 7:00am to 12:30pm, Tuesday and Thursday

Salary

• Assistant and Floater Teachers: $17.00-$19.00/hour pending education, credentials, and professional Early Childhood Education experience

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children
• Responsible for the planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities and curriculum as well as the maintenance of educational portfolios
• Supervise and engage children in educational and play activities
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom
• Monitor and ensure the well-being of each child in your care
• Communicate with parents about their child's progress and any concerns
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a positive learning environment
• Participate in training sessions, workshops, and staff meetings to enhance your skills and stay updated on best practices in early childhood education

Qualifications - Assistant and Floater Teachers

• REQUIRED Education: High School Diploma
• REQUIRED Experience: 6 months of experience working with children ages 6 weeks to 5 years in any capacity

Qualifications - All Positions

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations - for Infant and Young Toddler Teachers, must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib
• Must meet background check eligibility
• Must be at least 18-years-old
