Excellent opportunity to join a growing organization with over 85 years in business and approximately $1 billion a year in revenue. Our client is a global organization, headquartered in Madison, New Jersey, 40 locations throughout the U.S and operations in six countries outside the U.S. Here you will find challenging work, a creative, fun work environment, leadership that supports an entrepreneurial spirit, and a stellar track record in retaining employees for the duration of their career.

We are looking for a skilled AutoCAD AND/OR BricsCAD designer who can transform a given set of tools and requirements into a fully functional, aesthetically pleasing product that can be efficiently manufactured using available methods, while adhering to customer constraints and machine limitations. This is a full-time employee (W2) with competitive compensation including base salary, bonus, and benefits. This is an on-site role at Duluth, GA.

Duties and Responsibilities

Design & Drawing Creation

  • Design tool layouts and assemblies within tool kits, toolboxes, and related storage systems, ensuring efficient organization and accessibility.
  • Develop 2D and 3D drawings that accurately represent tool placement, fit, and functionality within custom tool control systems.
  • Update existing drawings with design changes and improve models to meet company standards for efficient manufacturing.
  • Revise and maintain project drawings to ensure consistency and accuracy for the manufacturing and assembly floor.
  • Follow Company drawing revision guidelines to ensure all drawings remain current and accurate.

Documentation and review

  • Review customer documentation, plans, and specifications as directed by the Engineering Manager.
  • Maintain detailed notes, design calculations, and other relevant documentation for future reference.

System and support

  • Support related tasks such as CAD database management and PDM maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot problems and figure out the best way to test and overcome them.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree, or Certificate from a technical trade school in CAD, drafting, mechanical design, or a related field — or equivalent experience and training.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or BricsCAD required.
  • Strong 2D and 3D CAD/Design skills to create very detailed designs that are both functional but esthetically pleasing. Experience creating detailed layout and design drawings from sketches, concepts, and specifications.
  • Design for manufacturing (DFM) experience using the most efficient and least labor-intensive method to produce kits. Familiar with laser cutting, waterjet cutting, CNC machining, and additive manufacturing (3D printing).
  • Skilled in PC use and Microsoft Office applications, with strong Excel proficiency for analyzing and manipulating data accurately.
  • Knowledgeable in standard drafting practices, engineering documentation, and design procedures.
  • Must be open to working on-site at Duluth, GA.
  • Experience in tool kit design or foam design is a strong plus.

Desired Abilities

  • Excellent spatial visualization ability to effectively envision how individual components come together in a unified design.
  • Ability to maintain strong attention to detail and the ability to focus on complex design work for extended periods.
  • Excellent communication skills — interpersonal, listening, oral, and written.
  • Strong team-oriented work ethic and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and organize multiple tasks effectively.
