CAD Designer – Engineering Management, Inc. (EMI)
Engineering Management, Inc. (EMI) is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated CAD Designer to join our dynamic team of multi-disciplinary engineers and designers. The CAD Designer will work under the guidance of Project Managers to support the production of design-phase deliverables, including reports, manuals, plans, profiles, sections, details, and specifications. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of civil and environmental engineering projects in a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed drawings and design documents using AutoCAD and other drafting tools
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to develop accurate design deliverables
- Assist in drafting water, wastewater, and infrastructure-related plans and layouts
- Maintain and organize CAD files, ensuring project standards are followed
- Support project development from concept through construction documentation
Minimum Requirements:
- 0 years of drafting experience in a professional setting (entry-level candidates encouraged to apply)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and GIS mapping
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Sufficient English language skills to compose documents, proofread content, and communicate effectively with team members and clients
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with water main and sewer main design
- Exposure to water and wastewater treatment plant design
- Working knowledge of GIS software
- Degree, diploma, or certificate in CAD drafting or design
