Director of Accounting
Overview
We’re looking for a strategic, hands-on Director of Accounting to lead the accounting function, oversee the month-end close, and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting. This role will partner closely with senior leadership, strengthen internal controls, and drive scalability as the organization continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire accounting function, including GL, AP/AR, payroll, revenue, inventory, and fixed assets.
- Lead and continuously improve the month-end and year-end close process to ensure accurate, timely financial statements.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team; establish clear goals, expectations, and workflows.
- Own financial reporting, ensuring compliance with GAAP and alignment with internal policies.
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and process documentation.
- Review and approve key journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Partner with FP&A, Operations, and other business units to support strategic initiatives, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Oversee annual audit processes, liaising with external auditors and coordinating PBC requests.
- Identify opportunities to streamline systems and processes; support ERP enhancements and automation efforts.
- Provide timely insights, variance analyses, and recommendations to senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
- 8–12 years of progressive accounting experience, including prior management experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and month-end close best practices.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment (public accounting private industry mix is ideal).
- Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

Salary : $140,000 - $160,000
