Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) / Dental

Assistant who is passionate about patient care and enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced

environment.


The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with the ability to anticipate the

dentist's needs while ensuring a smooth and efficient patient flow. This role is responsible for

assisting during clinical procedures, maintaining strict infection control standards, preparing

treatment rooms, educating patients, and contributing to an exceptional patient experience.

As one of the founding clinical team members, you'll have the opportunity to help establish

efficient clinical systems and workflows while growing alongside the practice.


Responsibilities


Clinical Assistance

  • Prepare treatment rooms before each patient appointment.
  • Assist the dentist during a wide variety of dental procedures using four-handed dentistry

techniques.

  • Anticipate the dentist's needs to promote efficient and productive appointments.
  • Transfer instruments and materials safely and efficiently throughout procedures.
  • Ensure patient comfort before, during, and after treatment.
  • Prepare dental materials, impressions, and restorative supplies.
  • Assist with restorative, cosmetic, prosthodontic, endodontic, oral surgery, and preventive

procedures.

  • Support emergency dental procedures as needed.


Patient Care

  • Welcome patients and help create a positive, comfortable clinical experience.
  • Escort patients to treatment rooms and review medical histories.
  • Explain treatment procedures and answer basic patient questions.
  • Provide oral hygiene instructions and post-operative care instructions.
  • Reinforce treatment recommendations and encourage patient compliance.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.


Clinical Operations

  • Sterilize instruments following OSHA, CDC, and infection control protocols.
  • Set up and break down operatories efficiently between patients.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked treatment rooms.
  • Monitor and replenish clinical supplies and notify management of inventory needs.
  • Assist with laboratory cases, impressions, model preparation, and case shipments.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and care of dental instruments and equipment.
  • Support compliance with infection control and safety standards at all times.


Radiography & Clinical Documentation

  • Take digital radiographs in accordance with California regulations.
  • Capture intraoral photographs and other diagnostic images as needed.
  • Enter accurate clinical notes and treatment documentation in CareStack.
  • Update patient records and assist with charting during procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of treatment performed and materials used.


Administrative & Team Support

  • Assist with scheduling adjustments when necessary.
  • Coordinate with the front office regarding patient flow and treatment needs.
  • Support inventory management and supply ordering.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
  • Assist in maintaining efficient clinical workflows and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the dentist or management to support clinic

operations.


Required Qualifications

  • Current California Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license preferred, or Dental
  • Assistant with relevant clinical experience.
  • Current California Dental X-Ray Certification.
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of dental assisting experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, CDC, and infection control regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Reliable, punctual, professional, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the dental team.
  • Experience with digital radiography and intraoral scanners.

Crown and Bridge Procedures

Cosmetic Dentistry

Root Canal Therapy

Extractions

Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics

Dental Implant Procedures

Experience in a startup or rapidly growing dental practice.
