Responsible for the operational management, profitability of the resort, and the management of the resort’s internal ownership’s Homeowners Association(s). Responsibilities include managing the front office, housekeeping, maintenance, security, recreation, food and beverage and retail functions. The General Manager operates with substantial latitude for unreviewed action or decisions. - Customer focus by building strong and internal and external customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions.
- Instills trust by gaining the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity.
- Collaborates and builds partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
- Coordinates with business management staff to ensure that accurate records are maintained, and cost controls are monitored and applied.
- Action-oriented, taking on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.
- Responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of resort functions, such as front office, housekeeping, maintenance, security and loss prevention, recreational, and food and beverage functions through indirect supervision.
- Communicates continuously with the Homeowners Association(s) Board of Directors.
- Develops and maintains cost and labor controls to ensure operation within budget.
- Must demonstrate leadership skills with the ability to acquire, develop and retain an engaged team.Â
- Conducts periodic inspections of units, building, grounds, noting deficiencies of team members, contractors and physical appearance of property. Â
- Commitment and dedication to our people-first culture.
- Ensure guest/owner safety and security; maintain crisis management plan.
- Assures compliance with all brand standards, labor laws, permits, licensing, policies, procedures.
- Lead an extensive Food and Beverage department with a volume in excess of $6M in annual revenues
- Works closely with developer, homeowners’ association, project management and in-house sales and marketing leadership.Â
- Management of and recommendations related to future reserve planning and projects in conjunction with Association Management / HOA BOD, project management team and business management teams.
- Maintain relationships with on-site business partners including our fully licensed Starbucks Café and our Retail / Gift Shop tenant.
- Support and enhance relationship effectiveness with our Asset Management team and our development partners.Â
- Maintain & grow positive relations with additional partnerships, including leadership at Miracle Mile Shops, Central Utility Plant, etc.Â
- Essential lead partner for resort for interaction, planning and execution of HGV F1 / Las Vegas Grand Prix sponsored event. Â Â
- Regularly communicate with Sales & Marketing leadership to ensure smooth operations between the business units.Â
- Regular engagement with our Design and Construction teams to ensure projects are on track, developing scope for future projects and identify changes in needs / priorities.Â
- Other duties as assigned.Â
Key Skills and Qualifications:Â
- Comprehensive knowledge of vacation ownership principles, practices, and procedures, including HOA laws and regulations in the day-to-day management of the resort is preferred.Â
- Must possess and apply a comprehensive knowledge of financial principles and statements to review and analyze resort and HOA financial status.
- Must demonstrate the ability to create and maintain a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- 3-5 years of prior General Manager experience.Â
- 5 years of management experience in a comparable property.
- Demonstrated experience leading extensive food and beverage within a high-volume hospitality environment.Â
- Project management experience is preferred.Â
- Union experience is preferred.
- BA/BS/Bachelor's Degree
