- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards for 1st grade students
- Create a stimulating classroom environment that promotes literacy, math skills, social-emotional learning, and creativity
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies and classroom management techniques
- Assess student progress regularly using standardized testing and formative assessments, providing feedback to support growth
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and specialists to support individual student needs, including those with autism or requiring early intervention
- Incorporate learning technology and library services into daily lessons to enhance student engagement
- Mentor new teachers and provide guidance on curriculum development, teaching strategies, and classroom management
- Proven experience in classroom teaching with a focus on early childhood education and childhood development
- Strong communication skills to effectively work with students, parents, and staff
- Expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, literacy education, and math instruction
- Knowledge of special education practices and working with individuals with autism or other learning differences
- Ability to manage classroom behavior and implement behavior management strategies effectively
- Familiarity with teaching physical education, tutoring techniques, and library services integration
- Proficiency in learning technology tools and educational software for enhanced instruction
- Experience in private school settings or Montessori methodologies is a plus
- Excellent writing skills for documentation, reports, and parent communication
