Special Education Teacher (1.0 FTE)
Hillsboro School District is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team at W.V. McKinney Elementary School. In this role, you will promote and develop successful learning for students while performing instructional and related duties in accordance with District policies. We are looking for a professional who maintains a cooperative attitude with staff, parents, and students to ensure the success of the District's goals.
- Promote high levels of student achievement in relation to individual abilities and implement appropriate techniques and methodologies.
- Manage student performance data to determine the extent to which IEP goals and objectives are achieved.
- Perform case manager duties and collaborate with teachers and specialists to ensure proper IEP implementation.
- Provide instruction and direction to assigned instructional assistants to ensure the delivery of high-quality instructional services.
- Adjust behavioral systems for individual student needs using functional behavioral assessments and behavior support plans.
- Valid State of Oregon Teaching License appropriate for the position with the correct endorsement.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Proficiency in English (oral and written) and the use of computer/Internet-based applications.
- Ability to work effectively and communicate with students, parents, and personnel from diverse cultures or backgrounds.
- Valid Oregon Driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Salary Range: $57,274 to $118,111 per year.
