Learn About a Day In the Life of a Surgical Tech:
- The Obstetric (OB) Surgical Technologist provides patient care under the direct supervision of the Physician and the Registered Nurse.
- Prepare the operating room/delivery room and check to assure readiness for the patient, with attention to sterile technique.
- Demonstrate responsibility and accountability in selecting, assembling, testing, and operating equipment and instruments by policies and procedures.
- Perform as a primary scrub tech handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgical procedures and deliveries while applying principles of sterile technique.
- Perform additional patient care assigned by the RN.
- Contribute to expected patient outcomes by policies, procedures, established standards, and administrative policies.
- Respond to on-call obligations with a 30-minute response time.
Job Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technology Training Program.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct
Preferred Job Requirements:
- One year of Labor and Delivery Surgical Tech experience or three years of Operating Room experience
