The Marketing and Communications Manager at Hill-Murray School will be a key player in shaping and executing the day-to-day marketing and communications strategies that strengthen the school’s institutional voice, brand, and community engagement. This position also plays an important role in advancing the school’s mission, vision, and Strategic Plan.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communications
- Serve as steward of Hill-Murray’s institutional voice across all communication channels.
- Lead the planning and execution of weekly communications delivered to families, students, alumni, and the broader community.
- Develop and position communications for school-wide events, advancement efforts, and enrollment activities (i.e., open houses, special events), and support related event planning and on-site execution.
- Collaborate with leadership, advancement, enrollment, academic leaders, and third-party vendors to implement the school’s communications and marketing plan.
- Develop and oversee communication initiatives to ensure clear, consistent, and mission-aligned messaging.
- Oversee third-party vendor partnerships to support effective campaign and communication execution.
- Manage public relations efforts, including press releases, external media, and social media.
- Partner with the President and/or school leadership on urgent or emergency communications.
Marketing and Brand Management
- Maintain and execute a comprehensive social media strategy rooted in best practices and aligned with HM’s mission and culture.
- Maintain and regularly update HM’s website in collaboration with third-party developers.
- Refine and strengthen Hill-Murray’s brand identity to ensure consistency across all marketing and communication materials.
- Conduct periodic brand audits and recommend improvements to enhance clarity and cohesion of messaging.
- Regularly capture and curate moments of school life, inspiring students and faculty to contribute to authentic storytelling throughout the year.
- Support enrollment efforts by developing and aligning messaging that clearly communicates Hill-Murray’s value proposition and student experience.
- Support advancement initiatives by developing print and digital communications that strengthen engagement and philanthropic support.
- Manage the marketing budget related to annual projects, design, and creative services.
Teamwork
- Foster and strengthen relationships across departments to ensure alignment, collaboration, and shared ownership of the Hill-Murray mission.
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent written, verbal, and storytelling skills.
- Strong understanding of brand positioning, message clarity, and attention to detail.
- Media experience (i.e., print, social media), and
- Web maintenance experience.
- Expertise in social media platforms, content management systems, and digital marketing tools.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated professional judgment, discretion, and ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently in a collaborative school environment with professionalism and integrity.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, PR, or related field.
- 4 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation: 1.0 FTE, exempt, 12-month position; starting salary range is $67,000 - $73,000 annually.
