Job Description: Recruitment Specialist
Department: Student Information Services Pay Classification: 130 (minimum salary: $42,800)
Reports To: Dean of Enrollment Services FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Job Summary: The Recruiter plans, develops, and implements a variety of outreach and recruitment programs designed to attract and engage prospective students. This position works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and community partners to promote Hill College programs and support enrollment goals through innovative recruitment strategies and events.
Minimum Required
Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, sales, education, or a related field, or a combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Minimum Required
Experience: Two (2) years of related experience in higher education
One (1) year of direct experience in student recruitment preferred
Core Duties and
Required Knowledge: Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive student recruitment and tracking strategy to attract a diverse and engaged student population.
Identify and engage prospective students through school visits, community outreach, and participation in college and career fairs across the district.
Coordinate TACRAO and other outreach events; provide training, guidance, and support to faculty and staff involved in recruitment activities.
Serve as a resource to departments and programs to strengthen recruitment planning, participation, and outcomes.
Partner with Institutional Affairs and Instruction to promote Hill College’s mission, programs, and institutional image through community and school events.
Organize and manage individual and group campus tours, ensuring visitors receive accurate and engaging information.
Lead and oversee the Hill College Ambassadors program, including training and supervision of student representatives.
Collaborate with Institutional Affairs to ensure recruitment materials and promotional content are current, accurate, and effectively distributed.
Evaluate outreach and recruitment efforts, analyze outcomes, and recommend strategies to improve efficiency and impact.
Maintain appropriate records, reports, and materials to support recruitment operations and data tracking.
Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and college systems for communication, scheduling, and reporting.
Apply working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations impacting recruitment and admissions (including FERPA and ApplyTexas).
Understand and apply best practices in strategic planning, budgeting, and resource management.
Uphold the Hill College mission, vision, and policies in all outreach and recruitment activities.

Identify new opportunities, partnerships, and programs to expand student engagement and access.
Develop innovative strategies to enhance outreach effectiveness and alignment with institutional priorities.
Recommend process improvements to support continuous program growth and sustainability.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and administrators to coordinate district-wide recruitment efforts.
Build and maintain partnerships with local schools, universities, and community organizations.
Partner with Institutional Affairs to align marketing and communication strategies with recruitment goals.
Serve on institutional committees and workgroups as assigned.

Physical Requirements: Light work; exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
