What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor position at Hilite International?
ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:
Direct manufacturing labor force assigned to achieve maximum quality output, meet required schedules.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in supervision in a manufacturing environment is required. It is preferred to have a minimum of an Associate’s Degree. Specialized training in the areas of labor management, business administration, lean manufacturing principles, and interpersonal skills are desirable.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Supervise and direct Line Leaders, Assistant Supervisor, and production employees. Includes disciplining, scheduling, transferring, and cross-training personnel assigned.
- Planning/coordinating overtime schedules and initiating any action required to meet and maintain production overtime requirements while ensuring the quality of the product(s) is never compromised.
- Responsible for accuracy of department inventories and production reports (includes review of employee’s time cards, scrap, and OEE reports).
- Participate in special projects designed to improve safety, production efficiency, scrap, and quality.
- Evaluation of temporary employee’s progress in terms of knowledge and performance.
- Develops the team culture through leadership example.
- Responsible for maintaining good safety practices and eliminating safety hazards in area of assignment and ensuring compliance to safety rules and plant emergency procedures, including all ISO14001 environmental issues.
- Ensure 5S standards are maintained.
- Schedules and approves associate vacations to assure production requirements are not jeopardized. Monitors absenteeism and excessive personal time among tem members and reports any chronic problems to the Business Unit Manager to follow-up.
- Other duties as assigned by the Business Unit Manager, Operations Manager, Plant Manager, etc.
