Duties
- Efficiently wash, sanitize, and dry dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment using proper food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed, including ingredient handling and assembly of simple menu items.
- Clear and bus tables promptly to maintain a clean dining area and support smooth service flow.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including dishwashers, sinks, and other cleaning tools, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Handle manual tasks such as lifting heavy loads of dishes or supplies safely in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen environment by sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing work surfaces regularly.
- Support overall sanitation efforts by following strict food safety management practices to prevent contamination or hazards.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including lifting heavy objects such as crates or large quantities of dishes.
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment like commercial dishwashers and cleaning tools is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure all dishes and surfaces are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience in catering or banquet settings is advantageous but not mandatory; enthusiasm for hospitality is essential.
