A successful forklift operator in Frozen Shipping has previous experience in a similar role. They are proficient in operating high-reach forklifts and deeply understand the unique challenges posed by working in cold environments. This person has an exceptional eye for detail, ensuring all products are handled and stored correctly to maintain quality and integrity. From property stacking pallets to meticulously following shipping instructions, they understand the importance of accurately shipping products to the customer. Safety is paramount, and the employee prioritizes it above all else. They strictly adhere to safety protocols and procedures, including wearing appropriate protective gear and following best practices for operating forklifts around pedestrians. This employee combines experience, attention to detail, safety consciousness, adaptability, teamwork, efficiency, and reliability to excel in their role and contribute to the success of the shipping department. 

Some responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Operate high-reach forklifts to safely and efficiently move pallets of frozen products in the shipping department. 
• Retrieve and stack pallets in high locations using the forklift's extended reach capabilities.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe operation of forklift equipment in frozen environments. 
• Perform routine inspections to ensure proper functioning. 
• Collaborate with warehouse team members to optimize workflow and ensure timely order fulfillment. 
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in shipping areas and storage freezers. 
• Follow all company policies and procedures related to forklift operation and workplace safety. 

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1-year experience operating a high-reach forklift (not to be confused with a cherry picker), preferably in a cold environment. 
• Ability to work in cold temperatures and physically demanding conditions for extended periods. 
• Excellent perception of space and hand-eye coordination. 
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment. 
• Flexibility to work varying shifts and overtime as needed.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures for operating forklifts in frozen environments. 

Physical Requirements: 

The position requires regular physical activity, such as reaching, bending, twisting, squatting, lifting up to 50 lbs, and walking/standing within and around the site for a minimum of 8-12 hours daily.
