Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Wrecker/Rollback Driver to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tow trucks and flatbed recovery vehicles to assist with vehicle recoveries, removals, and transportation. Your expertise will ensure that vehicles are handled efficiently, securely, and with excellent customer service. Duties
- Safely operate wrecker and rollback tow trucks to recover, load, transport, and unload vehicles of various sizes and types
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after recovery or transport to identify mechanical issues or damages
- Use automotive diagnostics and mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues and ensure proper vehicle operation
- Load and unload vehicles using appropriate equipment such as flatbeds, forklifts, or other tools while adhering to safety protocols
- Manage customer interactions professionally, providing clear communication about services and estimated timelines
- Maintain accurate logs of all recoveries, transports, and vehicle details for record-keeping purposes
- Follow all safety procedures and traffic laws during operations to ensure personal safety and that of others
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive repair and diagnostics
- Familiarity with manual transmissions and automotive systems
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record for operating tow trucks and heavy vehicles
- Experience with tow truck operations, flatbeds, and load securing techniques
- Ability to load & unload vehicles efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or winches
- Excellent conflict management skills to handle customer concerns professionally
- Good driving skills with experience in commercial driving environments
- Knowledge of automotive repair procedures and troubleshooting techniques
- Strong customer service orientation with clear communication skills
