Hickmam Mills C-1 School District The Senior Marine Instructor (SMI) is a full-time employee of the Hickman Mills C1 School District and as such functions as a regular faculty member of Ruskin High School, and who is ultimately responsible for the success of the Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (MCJROTC) program. The SMI reports to an assistant principal as his/her direct supervisor but has a direct line to the principal as the Department Head, Leadership Education program. The SMI also has supervisory duties to the Marine Instructor (MI) as they relate to program functioning and oversight.

Eligibility Requirements (Please Read Full Job Description Details, Attached)
- Must hold at least a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (Master's degree preferred).
- Must be certified as a Marine Corps JROTC Instructor by the Marine Corps Training and Education Command.
- Must meet one of the following Marine Corps service categories:
- Category I - Commissioned Officers with 18 or more years of active duty service.
- Category II - Reserve Officers with 20 years of honorable service.
- Category III - Officers with 8 or more years of active duty service, separated from service for no more than 5 years.
- Category IV - Active Reserve Officers.
- State of Missouri Teaching Certification Requirements . Obtain a permanent JROTC teaching certificate one within two years of initial date of employment as a JROTC instructor.
- Military Appearance and Height/Weight Requirements . Must meet and maintain Marine Corps standards.
- Physical Fitness . The physical demands may require long periods of standing, walking, hiking, lifting objects 50 lbs or greater and demonstrating physical fitness and marksmanship activities.
