This hybrid role requires a U.S. citizen with an active security clearance who can design, implement, and maintain complex IT infrastructure, databases, and middleware solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience in enterprise-level architecture and a strong understanding of security and compliance requirements in a government environment.

We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure DBA / Middleware Analyst with expertise in solution design, architecture, and middleware systems to support federal and defense clients. This hybrid role requires a U.S. citizen with an active security clearance who can design, implement, and maintain complex IT infrastructure, databases, and middleware solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience in enterprise-level architecture and a strong understanding of security and compliance requirements in a government environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain database systems (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or other enterprise DBs) ensuring performance, availability, and security.
- Provide middleware support and analysis for integration platforms such as WebLogic, WebSphere, or Apache Kafka.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure architecture and solution designs in alignment with organizational and federal IT standards.
- Perform database administration tasks including installation, configuration, patching, backup, recovery, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement scalable, secure, and highly available solutions.
- Analyze current infrastructure and recommend enhancements, upgrades, and optimizations.
- Ensure compliance with federal security policies, protocols, and best practices.
- Support system migrations, upgrades, and cloud integration projects.
- Document infrastructure configurations, architecture diagrams, procedures, and operational standards.
- Participate in capacity planning, performance tuning, and disaster recovery planning.
- U.S. Citizen with active security clearance (Secret required; Top Secret preferred).
- Hands on experience in database administration, middleware, or enterprise IT infrastructure.
- Expertise in database architecture, performance tuning, replication, and backup/recovery strategies.
- Strong experience with middleware platforms (WebLogic, WebSphere, Kafka, IBM MQ, etc.).
- Proficiency in solution architecture and enterprise system design.
- Experience with Windows, Linux, UNIX, and/or cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or DoD Cloud).
- Strong knowledge of networking, security, and IT compliance frameworks (FISMA, NIST, DoD STIGs).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with automation and scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell) is a plus.
- Certified Database Administrator (Oracle OCP, Microsoft SQL Server)
- Middleware or integration certifications (WebLogic, WebSphere, Kafka)
- Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization
- Previous experience supporting federal government or defense IT environments
