Gasconade County R-I School District is excited to invite applications for a Building Principal (Elementary) position. Our elementary school serves a vibrant and supportive community focused on student success, strong relationships, and a positive learning environment.
About the Role
The Building Principal plays a vital role in leading the school community and ensuring a high-quality educational experience for all students. We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic leader who is committed to fostering academic excellence, supporting staff development, and building meaningful connections with students, families, and the community.
The ideal candidate will:
- Oversee daily building operations and ensure a safe, efficient learning environment
- Implement and support effective student discipline practices
- Observe, evaluate, and support staff to promote instructional growth
- Supervise school programs, activities, and athletics as assigned
- Build a positive school culture rooted in respect and high expectations
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with staff, students, families, and the community
- Support the district’s mission, goals, and programs
- Maintain student confidentiality in accordance with FERPA
- Supervise and support administrative staff, including the Assistant Principal (if applicable)
- Evaluate coaching staff and review building procedures as needed
- Engage in ongoing professional growth
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher from an accredited institution
- Valid Missouri Principal Certification
Skills & Expectations
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in technology, including student information systems and Microsoft Office
- Commitment to consistent attendance and professionalism
- Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments
