What are the responsibilities and job description for the Billing Specialist position at Heritage Valley Health System?
Office Location: Peartree Way, Beaver, PA. Hybrid following training period.
Work Hours: Monday thru Friday, Primarily daylight.
Ensures timely and accurate accumulation and entry of CPT Level I, II and III codes as applicable to health care services provided. Careful review and submission of diagnosis codes associated with charges to ensure accurate reporting of clinical conditions to the respective payers and intermediaries. Responsibilities may include data entry, posting charges/payments, reconciling billings and invoices, checking balances and maintaining patient files.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED. Must have strong knowledge of CPT and ICD-9/10 coding principles; medical terminology; and proficiency with electronic systems. Minimum one year experience in a clinical setting.
Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.
Preferred
Prior coding, posting or billing experience in a physician office.
