WFS is currently looking for an Accounts Receivable Billing Specialist for our Finance Department.
Under the direction of the Supervisor – Accounts Receivable/Collections, the Accounts Receivable Associate performs a wide variety of duties related to the critical back-end office functions within the revenue cycle. The incumbent ensures accurate and timely processing of claims, payments, and invoicing. The position focuses on the efficient resolution of claim denials, identification of under or overpayments, and ensuring timely statement invoicing to consumers, private payers, and counties. The Accounts Receivable Associate will also support the tracking and reconciliation of grants and scholarships while assisting in filing timely appeals to ensure continued workflow.
The position requires in-office work a minimum of 1 day per month and a maximum of 2 days per week.
Responsibilities and Duties (full description available at https://wfspa.org)
· Reviews and resolves claim denials in a timely manner. Works with internal teams to secure payment.
· Identifies, investigates, and resolves under and overpayments, ensuring accurate billing and payment processes. Submits refund requests to resolve consumer and third-party payer overpayments via check requests or appropriate claim corrects via payer guidelines.
· Issues invoicing for applicable programs while ensuring accuracy and compliance. Generates self-pay bill to consumer for portion of bill not covered by third-party insurance.
· Ensures timely filing of appeals, when necessary, to resolve billing issues or secure reimbursement.
· Identifies bad debt write-offs and submits appropriate write-offs and adjustments to the Supervisor – Accounts Receivable/Collections for review in accordance with agency policies.
· Communicates ongoing issues, concerns, and updates to the Supervisor – Accounts Receivable/Collections to ensure alignment with revenue cycle goals and compliance standards.
Qualifications and Skills
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Experience: 1 year of experience preferred in medical billing or behavior health services. Will also consider completion of Billing and Coding Program.
Licenses, Certifications & Clearances:
· Medical Billing Certification preferred
· Act 33/34 Clearances
· FBI Clearance
· Valid State of PA Class 1 Drivers License
· Access to properly insured motor vehicle for client transportation and fieldwork and a safe driving record
