Unit Manager (RN) – Skilled Nursing Facility
Location: Greater Philadelphia
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Job Summary

As a Unit Manager (RN), you will oversee the nursing operations of your assigned unit, ensuring that all residents receive exceptional, high-quality care. You will lead, mentor, and support your nursing staff while maintaining compliance with all regulatory and facility policies. This role requires strong clinical knowledge, leadership abilities, and a commitment to resident-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day nursing activities of your assigned unit to ensure quality care and adherence to regulations.

  • Provide direct nursing care and oversee the care given by Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).

  • Monitor and assess resident conditions, ensuring that care plans are followed and updated as necessary.

  • Conduct rounds to evaluate resident care, address concerns, and ensure the highest quality of services.

  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to create and implement individualized care plans.

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and professional development for the nursing team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and facility regulations regarding resident care, infection control, and safety.

  • Participate in resident care meetings, quality assurance programs, and staff training initiatives.

  • Investigate and resolve resident or family concerns in a professional and compassionate manner.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in medical records and ensure compliance with all charting requirements.

  • Assist in recruitment, orientation, and training of new nursing staff.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Active RN license in PA – in good standing.
Minimum of 1–2 years of nursing experience in a skilled nursing facility, long-term care, or related healthcare setting.
Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations, infection control, and best nursing practices.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and make critical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems is a plus.
