Position Summary:
As Senior Vice President – Strategic Initiatives & Innovation, you will operate as a strategic partner and tactical executor to the Executive Committee as someone who thrives at the intersection of vision, operations, and results. This role serves as the Executive Committee’s integrative force and operational counterpart, translating big ideas and areas of opportunity into sound business strategies, structured priorities, unique product offerings, and measurable outcomes that drive enterprise value. With an entrepreneurial spirit, you focus on increasing revenue and/or profitability through the strategic initiatives that leverage the size, scale, and breadth of Heritage Golf Group’s expanding portfolio of clubs and services.
This role requires exceptional interpersonal/relationship building skills in working across internal business leaders, capital and strategic partners, vendors, product leads, department heads, and product leads to ensure strategic initiatives are clearly communicated and executed flawlessly.
This position is based in corporate headquarters in Herndon VA, reports directly to the CEO and ensures that all strategic initiatives move with focus, accountability, and operational excellence. Previous experience and/or strong working knowledge of hospitality, golf, private clubs, restaurants, and/or consumer product offerings is highly desired.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate the CEO and Executive Committee’s ideas into structured strategies, product offerings, action plans, and measurable milestones.
- Lead special projects across the organization including executive-level presentations, innovation partnerships, return on investment (ROI), and impact reporting.
- Independently advance initiatives and problem solve obstacles encountered with little senior leader input; anticipate roadblocks prior to them occurring.
- Communicate key messages ensuring information flow, clarity, and visibility across senior leaders and stakeholders through effective communication channels.
- Respond promptly to emerging needs, ensure follow-through and delivery on priorities, tracking progress and coordinating requests to meet deadlines.
- Serve as the lead of strategic projects such as the Heritage Plus network; owning cross-functional accountability, team alignment, and performance tracking.
- Build, maintain, and analyze operational KPIs in dashboard format to ensure the team stays focused on top priorities.
- Identify issues, obstacles, and barriers for each strategic project; provide the issue → solution → recommendation framework with concise rationale to the CEO and Executive Committee.
- Partner closely with Finance to ensure real-time visibility into forecasts, budgets, utilization, and profitability of all strategic projects and initiatives.
- Communicate clearly and consistently across the leadership team; drive alignment through concise, actionable messaging.
Qualifications & Skill Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field. MBA a plus.
- 5 years in strategy, analytic consulting, and/or in-house growth/innovation role with measurable business impact.
- Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and executing organizational growth through innovative strategic plans.
- Excellent communication skills including verbal and written communication and ability to collaborate effectively within a complex organization.
- Comprehensive knowledge of analysis, strategic planning, and measuring performance.
- Demonstrated track record of successfully developing and executing a vision and strategy to scale and grow business opportunities.
- Experience navigating fluid, high‑stakes initiatives, distilling shifting priorities and incomplete information into actionable insights, and steering strategies in real time based on emerging data and evolving feedback.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders, drive cross-functional collaboration, and build agreement.
- Entrepreneurial, proactive, and adaptable approach, with a rigorous work ethic and a willingness to take initiative and contribute across a range of responsibilities.
- Previous finance knowledge and/or experience is required.
- Proven problem-solving ability and responsiveness in dynamic environments.
