Riverchase Country Club is seeking an experienced Director of Golf to lead and elevate its golf operations. This role requires a true ambassador for golf and an expert in delivering exceptional golf experience to members and guests. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Director of Golf will oversee all aspects of the golf operation while fostering collaboration across departments to uphold the Club’s reputation for excellence. This club is owned and operated by Heritage Golf Group.
Experience Requirements and Qualifications:
- Proven leadership experience in a similar role within a high-caliber Golf Club.
- PGA active status membership required. Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
- Deep understanding of golf operations, including course management, tournaments, teaching and instruction ability with a minimum of 5 years of golf management experience.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to manage budgets, analyze metrics, and drive profitability.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with members, guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive golf programs aligned with the Club’s vision and standards.
- Responsible for proper and timely collection of all charges and fees associated with Pro Shop and all golf activities.
- Attend Golf Committee meetings as the Professional representative of the Club and work directly with the Golf Committee Chair and the General Manager to make sure golf operations run smoothly.
- Interpret and enforce golf rules, regulations, Club policies, Bylaws, Rules & Regulations, pace of play, and tournament procedures.
- Collaborate closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and other department heads to ensure seamless operation.
- Leverage technology, including POS system (Jonas), tee sheet management, Club website, and tournament software to optimize operations and enhance efficiency.
- Act as a strategic leader, setting goals to enhance the golf experience and support the Club’s overall success.
- Hire, train, mentor, and manage all golf personnel, creating a positive work environment that promotes and fosters a high level of professionalism that adds to the member experience.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide opportunities for professional development.
- Oversee daily operations of the golf department to include Pro Shop management, tee time coordination, course activities, scheduling of staff, pace of play, and proper setup and cleanliness of golf practice areas and golf cart fleet.
- Ensure proper inventory management, including procurement and merchandising for the Pro Shop.
- Maintain high standards in member/guest services, ensuring an exceptional experience.
- Plan and execute golf tournaments, clinics, and special events for members and guests.
- Provide golf instructions, lessons, and programming to cater to players of all skill levels while driving engagement by enhancing the Club’s golf offerings and fostering a vibrant golf community.
- Prepare and manage budgets for golf operations with the General Manager, ensuring financial objectives are met.
- Track performance metrics and identify opportunities and areas for revenue growth and cost optimization.
Salary : $70,000 - $90,000
