Summary

We are seeking a Certified Peer Specialist to join our team at Here For You Enterprise Inc. In this role, you will be required to model recovery principles and prosocial behavior through leveraging your lived experience, while provide support and guidance to clients facing mental health and addiction challenges. Your contributions will be vital in helping clients develop coping strategies and achieve their recovery goals.

Responsibilities

• Check the recovery home for physical safety such as overloaded electrical outlets, safety equipment inspection, and no blocked egress.

· Ensure that the recovery house is free from alcohol and illicit substances and no other prohibited items in the house

• Orient new residents to the home and ensure policy and procedures are explained and understood.

· Ensure that all residents are accounted for and all additional needs are met.

· Check in with residents and clients on a daily basis and document progress toward their recovery plans weekly.

· Facilitate weekly house meetings and recovery meetings and ensure that all residents attend the required meetings.

· Monitor residents for any potential warning signs concerning symptoms leading to and including relapse and refer them for appropriate support.

· Review the residents grievances in accordance with Serenity Housing's grievance policy

· Respond to neighbor concerns

· Must be available to residents who need additional support or have questions.

· Assist in completing resident grievances, responding to incidents at the recovery home and ensuring appropriate documentation is completed

· Assist with ensuring residents are upholding the code of conduct and respond when they are not.

Reports To:

Coordinator of Supportive Services/Clinical Coordinator

Requirements:

• Certification as a Peer Specialist is required.
• Experience in crisis intervention and management within a mental health or addiction context.
• Strong understanding of behavioral health principles and practices.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Experience in model recovery principles and prosocial behavior.
