Pay Range: ADMITTING COORD I -$21.79 to $30.51
Job Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Department Director or designee, the Admitting Coordinator I is responsible for processing in and out patients at the front desk , scheduling exams, verifying insurance information and patients’ demographics, and verifying proper orders for billing.
Licensure and Certification:
None applicable
Education:
- High School graduate or GED equivalent
Experience:
- Previous experience of at least one year in hospital or medical office setting
- Medical terminology strongly preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
- Computer literate and typing skills
- Insurance billing preferred
- Knowledge of all areas of diagnostic imaging including Cardiology and Pulmonary departments
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Strong organizational skills
- Problem solving skills
- Basic computer skills
Physical Demands – Clerical/Administrative Non-Patient Care:
- Frequent sitting and standing/walking with frequent position change.
- Continuous use of bilateral upper extremities in fine motor activities requiring fingering, grasping, and forward reaching between waist and chest level.
- Occasional/intermittent reaching at or above shoulder level.
- Occasional/intermittent bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing/pulling, twisting, and climbing.
- Occasional/intermittent lifting and carrying objects/equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
