Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Maintenance Mechanic located in Waukegan, IL. The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance on equipment, identifying and resolving mechanical issues, and conducting repairs as needed. Daily tasks will include troubleshooting, inspecting, and maintaining industrial machinery to ensure optimal functionality. Collaborating with team members to ensure minimal downtime and coordinating corrective maintenance activities will be key aspects of this role.
Qualifications
- Food manufacturing experience as a mechanic is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance of a variety of industrial machines.
- Strong background in industrial electrical motors and controls.
- High school diploma or equivalent plus a certificate from a 2-year technical school and/or graduation from a certified apprenticeship program and one to three years of experience in the maintenance and repair of industrial equipment preferably in a food environment.
- Knowledge of mechanical machinery, steam, boiler, pneumatic, hydraulic, scales and electrical. Understanding and experience of preventive maintenance CMMS program.
- Experience troubleshooting, PLC’s; electrical controls.
- Must be flexible and able to react to fast changing priorities.
