Job Summary: The Assistant Parts Manager supports the Parts Manager in overseeing daily operations of the parts department. This role helps ensure efficient inventory control, accurate ordering, excellent customer service, and compliance with company policies. The Assistant Parts Manager acts as a leader within the department and serves as a backup to the Parts Manager when needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Parts Department
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing daily parts department operations
- Maintain accurate inventory levels, track stock and minimize waste
- Receiving parts, including placing them into inventory and properly labeling them
- Distribute build assemblies to technicians
- Identify and implement improvements to inventory management
- Forecast parts and consumable needs and work with Purchasing Department to order parts and maintain optimal inventory levels, as well as returning dead stock or damaged goods
- Perform daily cycle count
- Perform monthly physical inventory count
- Assist technicians with parts inquiries, sales and returns
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient operations
- Inspect parts for quality and accuracy
- Manage and update Google sheet form with live inventory counts, daily cycle counts and inventory map (HSV)
- Manage other department staff
- Other tasks or duties as assigned
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Quickbooks or another inventory management system
- Attention to detail and quality
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism and respect
- Ability to interact with all levels of employees in the organization
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to work independently and alongside a team
Education and Experience:
- 2-3 years’ experience in Parts or Inventory Control
- High school degree or equivalent required
Physical Requirements:
- Standing, moving, bending for many hours of the day
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
