Our client is a family-owned engineering and fabrication group that designs and builds custom fluid-delivery systems for naval propulsion and industrial power applications. They’re hiring a Program Manager who can take full ownership of technical projects and drive them to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all contract and project matters
- Oversee task order execution, staffing needs, and labor utilization
- Lead weekly meetings with customers and project stakeholders
- Ensure engineering disciplines—naval architecture, marine, electrical, mechanical—are properly supported
- Develop project plans, timelines, scope, and resource allocation
- Coordinate between customers, internal teams, vendors, and subcontractors
- Manage project execution strategy including materials, vendor support, subcontractors, and compliance
- Track budgets, schedules, performance metrics, and project risks
- Negotiate project or contract changes and maintain accurate baselines
- Ensure compliance with internal standards and contractual requirements
- Prepare project reports and updates for leadership and customers
- Oversee project close-out and document lessons learned
Skills & Qualifications
- Background in the maritime industry or similar industrial equipment environments
- Strong understanding of project management processes, tools, and methodologies
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical projects through full lifecycle
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Professional interpersonal skills for working with customers, teams, vendors, and partners
- Ability to handle confidential or classified information
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software
Education & Preferred Background
- Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
- PMP certification or interest in pursuing one is a plus
