Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead a blown film manufacturing operation in Thomson, Georgia. This role is responsible for overall plant performance including safety, quality, production, maintenance, and continuous improvement in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
The Plant Manager will work closely with corporate manufacturing leadership and peer plant leaders to drive operational excellence, cost reduction, and a strong culture of accountability and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operations of a blown film manufacturing facility in a 24/7 environment
- Drive improvements in productivity, scrap reduction, machine optimization, and cost control
- Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with all company policies and procedures
- Lead, develop, and hold accountable supervisors, managers, and plant staff
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives including lean manufacturing, visual management, and problem-solving methodologies
- Oversee quality, maintenance, inventory, and workforce planning to meet production and customer requirements
- Partner cross-functionally with operations, sales, logistics, technical services, and corporate leadership
- Establish clear expectations, monitor performance, and implement corrective actions when needed
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of plant or production management experience in the blown film or cast film industry
- Strong understanding of blown film processes, equipment, and troubleshooting
- Experience leading multi-shift manufacturing teams in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to drive operational improvements and lead change
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to balance hands-on operational involvement with strategic leadership
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with downstream equipment such as winders, bag making, printing, or converting
- Background in continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Kaizen, or Six Sigma
- Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus
