Director of Warehouse Operations

About the Role

Our client is hiring a hands-on warehouse leader to help scale a fast-growing consumer brand with increasing volume and complexity. This role owns planning, people leadership, and execution across a high-volume fulfillment operation shipping both direct-to-consumer and to national big-box retail partners (e.g., Walmart).

This is a leader-first role focused on ownership and outcomes rather than clock-watching. You’ll be visible on the floor, setting priorities, building structure, and coaching a growing team as volume scales from 2.3M to nearly 4M units annually.

What You’ll Do

• Lead day-to-day warehouse operations across receiving, inventory, fulfillment, and shipping
• Act as a coach-style leader—drive accountability, morale, and performance
• Plan labor, priorities, and workflows to support rapid growth
• Oversee big-box retail fulfillment, including routing guide and compliance requirements
• Use KPIs and reporting to make smart staffing and operational decisions
• Improve processes, layout, and systems to increase throughput and accuracy
• Partner closely with leadership in a fast-moving, hands-on environment

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience leading teams in warehouse, fulfillment, logistics, or operations
• Strong people leadership—motivating, direct, and hands-on
• Comfortable with data, metrics, and operational decision-making
• Experience with big-box retail shipping (Walmart or similar) is a big plus
• Familiarity with routing guides, SPS Commerce, or WMS platforms (ShipHero or similar) is helpful
• Thrives in growth, ambiguity, and ownership-driven environments
