Your Impact (What You'll Do)
As an Assistant Activity Director, you are the heartbeat of our community's energy. You will help design and run a vibrant activity program that spans physical, social, emotional, and spiritual events—ensuring every resident feels included, valued, and engaged.
Key Responsibilities:
Create Joy: Develop and run creative activities tailored to residents of all ability levels, including custom one-on-one, in-room activities for those unable to leave their rooms
Build the Calendar: Help design a monthly calendar of events that appeals evenly to both men and women of diverse backgrounds
Connect with the Community: Bring the outside world in! Partner with local clubs, churches, and volunteer groups to host special events
Ensure Safety & Compliance: Safely escort residents to and from events and accurately handle activity documentation according to regulatory standards
Step Up & Lead: Be ready to confidently support and help run the department in the absence of the Activity Director
Who We Are Looking For
Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
Skills: Strong communication skills, basic tech comfort (MS Word & Outlook), and a natural ability to connect with individuals who have physical or cognitive disabilities
Superpowers: A high-energy, enthusiastic personality, genuine empathy for the elderly, and the flexibility to work some evenings and weekends for special events
