Job Title: STEAM Pathway Teacher

Job Goal: The goal of this position is to create and innovate student-centered educator to serve as our STEAM Pathway Teacher. This full-time position will lead the development and instruction of our Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) Pathway Program, preparing students with the skills, problem-solving abilities, and career awareness needed for future success in Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways at the high school level.
The STEAM Pathway Teacher will create engaging, hands-on learning experiences that encourage critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and innovation while helping students connect classroom learning to real-world applications and future career opportunities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plans a program of study that is appropriate to the maturity and interest of students and meets their individual needs and abilities.
- Creates a positive classroom environment which upholds and enforces the school rules and is conducive to learning.
- The teacher will guide the learning process to increase student achievement in accordance with the curriculum and consistent with state and local standards.
- Employs instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives.
- Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required in a timely and confidential manner.
- Work with other professionals to determine special learning needs of pupils on a regular basis, seeking the assistance of specialists as required.
- Collaborates with colleagues, students, and/or parents on an ongoing basis concerning student academic and behavioral progress.
- The school professional adheres to the Board of Education policies, state rules and regulations, and to licensure standards.
- Strives to maintain and improve professional competence and serves on staff committees as required.
- Design and deliver engaging STEAM curriculum aligned to pathway progression
- Integrate science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics into meaningful interdisciplinary projects

- Build connections between middle school learning and high school CTE opportunities
STEAM Pathway Courses:
STEAM 1 – Foundations
Introduce students to the core principles of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics through inquiry-based learning and foundational skill development.
STEAM 2 – Explorations
Expand student understanding through project-based learning, problem-solving challenges, and career exploration within STEAM fields.
STEAM 3 – Applications
Guide students in applying interdisciplinary knowledge to real-world situations, emphasizing collaboration, design thinking, and practical solutions.
STEAM 4 – Innovation Lab
Provide students with opportunities to experiment, create, and innovate using technology, engineering processes, and creative design.
STEAM 5 – Design Studio
Develop advanced project work where students design, build, revise, and present solutions while strengthening leadership and presentation skills.
STEAM 6 – Capstone & Leadership
Prepare students for the transition into high school CTE pathways by leading capstone projects, community connections, leadership development, and career readiness experiences.
Program Vision:
The STEAM Pathway Program is designed to intentionally build student readiness for high school Career and Technical Education programs by the end of 8th grade. Students will develop foundational academic and technical skills while exploring future careers in engineering, technology, healthcare, design, business, and other high-demand industries.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Bonding and/or Testing Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
- A valid Colorado Teaching Certificate endorsed in area of assignment (CTE endorsement preferred or willingness to pursue CTE credentialing
- Experience in STEM, engineering, technology integration, arts education, project-based learning, or related fields preferred
- Such alternatives to the above as the Board of Education may find appropriate.
Physical Demands/Work Environment: Between sitting, standing, and walking throughout the day lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis and 10 pounds on a frequent basis, occasionally stooping, kneeling, crouching, overhead reaching and fine motor activity, frequently sitting, standing, walking, balancing, reaching at desk and floor level, firm and simple grasping. The work requires constant seeing, hearing, and talking.
FSLA Status: Exempt
Days / Terms of Employment: 160 Days / Nine-month position. Salary to be determined by the School Board of Education.
