As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you'll manage essential disbursement operations to ensure smooth payment processes. You'll work closely with the finance team to deliver accurate and timely vendor payments, maintain immaculate records, and support month-end closings. Your attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality will help uphold our strong financial integrity.
What You'll Do
- Reviewing, coding, and processing vendor invoices and debit memos, ensuring they are paid within a 5-business-day window.
- Preparing and executing check runs, wire transfers, and ACH payments, posting ledger entries, and uploading files for bank processing.
- Auditing vendor statements regularly to verify all invoices are recorded accurately, minimizing discrepancies.
- Responding promptly to internal and external AP inquiries, providing courteous and clear resolutions.
- Supporting month-end closing activities, including account reconciliations and assisting with government reporting such as 1099s.
- Assisting during annual audits and inventory counts by maintaining organized records.
- Keeping all financial data confidential and ensuring data integrity at all times.
What You'll Bring
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive accounts payable experience.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with strong multi-tasking skills and meeting strict deadlines.
- Fast, accurate data entry skills, including 10-key by touch.
- Prior experience working with ERP systems like Epicor (or similar software) is a plus.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
