What are the responsibilities and job description for the Documentation Specialist (Part Time) position at HELMS HOME CARE LLC?
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Documentation Specialist to join our team in our Denver, NC office. This is a part-time, non-remote position requiring flexibility to support high-volume work cycles.
Schedule (16 hours per week)
Candidates must be available for one of the following schedule options:
- Option 1: Saturday & Sunday – 8 hours each day
- Option 2: Weekdays – 4 hours per day (schedule to be determined)
Flexibility in availability and willingness to adjust schedules based on workload demands is essential
Essential Functions
- Maintain punctuality and dependable attendance
- Review clinical documentation submitted by Infusion RNs for accuracy and compliance (training provided)
- Collaborate with team members to ensure documentation is processed accurately for billing and payroll purposes
- Retrieve submitted documentation, confirm receipt, and route to appropriate locations within the company network
- Assist in organizing and structuring daily document submissions to support efficient workflow
- Generate reports to track deadlines, progress, and missing documentation
- Communicate effectively with Infusion RNs regarding documentation needs and corrections
- Work cross-functionally with departments to resolve delays, answer questions, and ensure accurate billing and payroll data
- Provide regular updates to management regarding goals, deadlines, and outstanding tasks

Qualifications:
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to navigate computer systems
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and infusion services (preferred)
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills
- Education: High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Experience:
- Minimum 6 months in an administrative or data processing role
- 1 year experience as an Administrative Assistant or Receptionist (preferred)
- 1 year experience in Data Entry (preferred)
