Key Responsibilities
- Provide production support and maintenance for a mainframe Account Reconciliation System (ARS)
- Diagnose, mitigate, and permanently resolve production issues through code fixes
- Support high volume batch processing, intraday jobs, and file transmissions
- Rerun failed jobs, troubleshoot batch failures, and coordinate with the Transmission Team
- Support nightly batch cycles (processing until approximately 7:30 PM EST)
- Gradually assume on call / afterhours support, including 1:00 AM job failures
- Independently review, understand, and modify legacy mainframe code with minimal guidance
- Document fixes, procedures, and support processes
- Potential contribution to Phase 2 SAS migration development
- Comfort with nighttime and on call production support (after ramp up)
- 10 years of combined mainframe development and production support experience
- Strong hands on experience with COBOL, JCL, Easytrieve, VSAM
- Proven success supporting high volume batch processing environments
- Ability to read and understand complex legacy code independently
- Experience troubleshooting and fixing production issues under SLA pressure
- Background supporting mission critical banking systems
- Account Reconciliation systems
- Fraud detection or risk management platforms
- Integration between mainframe systems and SAS
- Experience with Fiserv products
- Exposure to Hogan systems
- Check processing or payment batch systems
