Plant Waterer
You will work with your team to ensure our trees, shrubs, perennials, and grasses are watered and stay looking in amazing condition during our Spring, Summer, and Fall season. While most of the nursery is on drip irrigation, our potted plants need hand watered using hoses and watering wands and/or spray nozzels. You and the rest of your team will be responsible to ensure these plants are properly watered. Our water team usually consists of 3-6 people during peak season. It can be a great seasonal job, but we are looking for the right person that may want to do this more permanently.
Responsibilities
- Complete daily list of plants/trees that need watered each day.
- Communicate and work with 1-3 people on your team to make sure no plants get missed.
- Lean to identify if a plant or tree needs more or less water.
Requirements
- Work Weekends (Saturday and Sunday) from April-September. The plants need watered everyday. We do try to rotate some weekends where we can.
- You must be able to work outside, on your feet for up to 9 hour shifts in varying weather conditions from chilly spring/fall days to hot summer day.
- You must be able to lift 50lbs repeatedly. Mostly moving garden hoses and the occasional plant.
- You must be self motivated and able to complete the daily water list on time.
- You must be able to use Google Sheets to keep track of the daily water list.
- You must be able to follow directions and work well with others.
- Reliability is huge with this position. We need people we can count on to keep our plants looking great!
- Must be 16 years or older and have reliable transportation.
