Position: Purchasing and Procurement CoordinatorPay Rate: $25.00 /hourlyLocation: Stockton, CASchedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00am - 5:00pmJob Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing and Procurement Coordinator to manage the procurement process for our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services, maintaining supplier relationships, and optimizing purchasing strategies to support our operational needs. This role requires excellent negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.Duties and Responsibilities:Manage the procurement process from requisition to purchase order issuanceNegotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to secure favorable termsMaintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier informationEvaluate vendor performance and conduct regular market research to identify new suppliersCollaborate with internal departments to forecast purchasing needs and ensure timely delivery of goods and servicesAssist in the development and implementation of procurement policies and proceduresRequirements: Extensive public sector purchasing experience (minimum 3–5 years, preferably in higher education or government)Strong understanding of California Public Contract Code (PCC), Education Code, and CUPCCAA requirementsDemonstrated ability to develop, issue, and manage solicitations, including RFBs, RFIs, and RFPs from start to awardSkilled in contract administration — drafting, reviewing, interpreting, and negotiating terms and conditionsExperience managing full procurement cycles for goods, services, and equipment — from requisition through purchase order issuanceProven vendor relations and negotiation skills to achieve best value while maintaining complianceProficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Banner, PeopleSoft, Oracle, or similar) and Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to analyze procurement data and ensure accuracy of bids, pricing, and documentationKnowledge of competitive bidding thresholds and board approval processes for community colleges or public agenciesExcellent written and verbal communication skills for bid documentation and formal reportsHighly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple solicitations simultaneouslyStrong ethical judgment and commitment to transparency and compliance with state and district policiesCompany DescriptionAfter 44 years of service and multiple locations throughout the Central Valley, Hedy Holmes Staffing Services has established itself as an innovative staffing agency that puts a premium on matching top talent with top employers.
