Position: Buyer
Pay Rate: $23.00/hour
Location: Lodi, CA
Schedule: Monday- Friday | 7:00AM - 4:00PM
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Buyer to support production, maintenance, and operations by sourcing and purchasing materials, goods, and services. This role is responsible for managing vendor relationships, maintaining inventory levels, processing purchase orders, and ensuring materials are available to support manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Source materials by obtaining vendor quotes (RFQs) and evaluating pricing, lead times, and supplier performance.
- Research historical purchasing data to support purchasing decisions.
- Create, process, and track purchase orders, including system-generated requisitions, TR card purchases, and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) orders.
- Monitor daily inventory levels to prevent shortages and excess inventory.
- Analyze inventory using time-phase planning, min/max levels, demand forecasts, and 12-month usage reports.
- Manage weekly supply room inventory and replenish materials as needed.
- Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, product availability, expedited orders, backorders, RMAs, credits, and replacement materials.
- Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Accounts Payable, and Operations regarding deliveries, delays, credits, and material availability.
- Follow all company safety policies and promptly report unsafe conditions.
- Collaborate with the Purchasing Manager and cross-functional teams to support production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
