Position: Universal Banker

Pay Rate: $22.00 - $24.00/hourly

Location: Stockton, CA

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

Position Summary

We are seeking a customer-focused and versatile Universal Banker to join our banking team in Stockton, CA. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for an experienced banking professional who can perform both teller and new account functions while delivering exceptional customer service. The Universal Banker will support branch operations, build strong customer relationships, cross-sell financial products, and ensure compliance with banking regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Open and close branch operations in accordance with bank procedures.
• Open and service all types of consumer and business deposit accounts.
• Perform all teller transactions, including: Deposits, withdrawals, and transfers. Wire transfers. Cashier's checks. Stop payments. Safe deposit box transactions. Ordering cash and processing cash shipments.
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of all bank products and services.
• Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate banking products and services.
• Assist customers with account inquiries, requests, and problem resolution.
• Provide information regarding account rates, fees, restrictions, and available services.
• Complete Branch Capture functions and branch certifications.
• Review daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
• Approve transactions within assigned authority limits.
• Generate Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) and other required banking reports.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable banking regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Travel to and support multiple branch locations as needed.
• Assist in developing and mentoring associates working toward becoming Universal Bankers.
• Participate in task forces, committees, and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 years of banking or related financial institution experience.
• Strong knowledge of teller operations and new account procedures.
• Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively cross-sell banking products based on customer needs.
• Solid mathematical and cash-handling skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and banking software systems (ITI experience preferred).
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
• Flexibility to work at multiple branch locations when needed.
