Responsibilities
- Plan and implement engaging daily activities tailored to infants, toddlers, and preschoolers that promote developmental milestones and early childhood learning standards
- Provide attentive supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care at all times
- Foster positive behavior management strategies to encourage social-emotional growth and cooperation among children
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns in a clear, respectful manner
- Maintain accurate documentation of children's developmental progress, attendance, and daily activities in compliance with licensing regulations
- Support classroom management by organizing materials, maintaining cleanliness, and creating an inviting learning environment
- Follow all health and safety protocols including pediatric first aid, CPR certification, mandated reporting laws, and infection control procedures
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in licensed childcare centers, preschools, babysitting, nannying or similar settings
- Knowledge of child development instruction, childhood development principles, and early childhood education best practices
- Certification in first aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain upon hire) including pediatric first aid training
- Familiarity with special education needs and experience working with children with disabilities is a plus
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage children through creative teaching methods
- Excellent communication skills for effective parent interaction and team collaboration
- Ability to follow mandated reporting laws and health & safety regulations diligently
- Passion for caregiving, nurturing young minds, and supporting families in their child's early years
