Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Concrete Estimator to join our dynamic construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for various concrete projects, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. This role plays a vital part in project planning, budgeting, and bidding processes. The successful candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of concrete and construction estimating practices and be a team player.
Duties
- Research and monitor public construction projects to determine biddability and potential opportunities.
- Track bid schedules, addendums, and pre-bid meetings to ensure all deadlines and requirements are met.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, arrive early, and document site conditions with photos and notes.
- Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to determine scope of work and estimating requirements.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and develop estimates for labor hours, materials, and equipment.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to obtain timely and competitive proposals and provide clarity as necessary
- Prepare bid sheets, proposals, and bid packages when bidding as both a General Contractor and Subcontractor.
- Complete prequalification packages and coordinate required bonds to ensure timely submission.
- Review final estimates with ownership to confirm alignment with project schedule, scope, and cost goals.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating, specifically within concrete or heavy civil projects.
- Proficiency in estimating software tools: Microsoft Office, Quickbooks, ProCore, BlueBeam
- Strong understanding of construction management principles, contracts, and project lifecycle.
- Knowledge of construction site operations and safety standards.
- Familiarity with cost control techniques and budget management practices.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contractual documents.
- Bilingual (Spanish) helpful but not required.
