ACI, a a Heartland Paving Partner, leads in providing complete parking lot management solutions to commercial and industrial properties regionally. ACI services include, but are not limited to: Asphalt patching, asphalt reconstruction, asphalt resurfacing, sealcoating, crack sealing, concrete maintenance: including installation and repair of concrete curbs, walks, and pads; storm sewer repair and installation, lot marking, and green paving solutions. Summary
The primary purpose of the role is to operate equipment and perform related construction duties on asphalt (prep/paving/patching/installation/sealcoating) and or concrete (prep/installation) crews at ACI.
Responsibilities
- Safely, efficiently and accurately complete assigned work tasks to ACI standards and per job/customer requirements.
- Assists others on team as needed/directed to complete job.
- Conducts daily pre-shift vehicle and equipment inspections and maintains self, equipment and tools per ACI standards, including understanding maintenance program requirements for all equipment used for role
- Maintains/obtains relevant certifications to perform assigned work. Includes reviewing and understanding equipment manuals for all equipment used.
- Conducts work in professional, positive, friendly, team-oriented manner that assures customer satisfaction (external and internal customers) and a safe work environment
- Active participation in all daily, weekly and as needed meetings for safety, training, pre-shift/tailgate and etc.
- Proactive communication regarding status or issues with specific jobs or equipment with foreman, management and other support team members at ACI.
- Create a safe work environment, following procedures, standards and rules and regulations.
- Complies with all ACI company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Previous construction experience preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency and certifications for required equipment to perform role
- Clean driving record and class A CDL or ability/willingness to obtain
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must have ability to do basic mathematical calculations around measurement, weights, area, circumference and volume.
- Must have ability to interact with external and internal customers and partners in a fast pace, multitasking environment, working independently with a high degree of problem solving
- Proficiency in use of technology including iPhone and internet
- Travel when required throughout the Midwest.
- Able to pass pre-employment drug screening
