WORK DETAILS
The selected candidate will be based at our new 21st and Rock Rd Branch, located at 2191 N. Rock Rd in Wichita, Kansas. This branch is scheduled to open in August. Until then, the position will be temporarily based at our East Kellogg branch at 12021 E. Kellogg Dr.
Branch hours:
Must be available Monday through Thursday from 7:45 a.m. to 5:45 p.m., Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 6:15 p.m., with rotating Saturdays from 8:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF A BRANCH MANAGER:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following activities:
- Leads branch efforts to continually meet or exceed branch growth goals, business development, and operational efforts of the branch.
- Actively participates and represents Heartland in various community, civic, and professional organizations.
- Provides leadership to strive toward, meet, and exceed short and long-term goals.
- Manages the hiring, training, coaching and development of staff.
- Provides guidance to staff regarding operational functions, lending, service, and sales.
- Supports all branch operations including teller duties, processing deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, cashiers' checks, money orders, and cash advances.
- Maintains oversight of regular balancing of the vault, cash dispenser/recycler and ATM according to established procedures. Monitors and maintains cash supply at appropriate levels. Oversees the ordering, dispensing, and shipping of cash by Assistant Branch Manager or Vault Teller.
- Assist members with their lending and account needs, provide financial counseling, and promote all HCU products and services.
- Maintains knowledge of credit union products and services.
- Attends meetings and training sessions as required.
- Provides superior service to our members and staff.
- Proactively supports and advances HCU's brand and culture platform.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS OF A BRANCH MANAGER
- College degree in business, finance, or related field preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of financial services and products.
- Understanding of related legal and regulatory requirements and branch functions, policies, and procedures.
- At least three years of related experience in a financial institution and lending required.
- Minimum of two years of leadership experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and supervisory skills.
- Proven sales and business development skills.
- Well organized and attentive to detail.
- Ability to operate related computer applications and related business equipment.
- Ability to maintain an effective and efficient workflow.
- Valid driver's license.
- Will become a Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) through CUNA's FiCEP program. Certification fees are paid for by HCU.
- Will be registered through the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) under the SAFE Act of 2008. Fees paid for by HCU.
- Complete all required testing.
- Stationary for extended periods of time. Moves up to 10 lbs. occasionally.
