Position Summary We are seeking a Senior Data Architect / Analyst to lead the transformation of a complex, fragmented data environment into a cohesive, enterprise-ready common data framework. This senior role will drive the majority of the effort focused on data assessment, gap analysis, and implementation of standardized data structures to support future business intelligence capabilities and improved decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive identification, cataloging, and assessment of existing data sources across multiple systems and formats (including documents, spreadsheets, databases, and unstructured/tribal knowledge).
- Conduct stakeholder interviews and workshops with leadership and functional owners to define business intelligence requirements and key performance indicators.
- Perform detailed gap analysis and develop actionable recommendations for data transformation, standardization, and enhanced usability/accessibility.
- Design and assist in implementing a maintainable common data framework and structure suitable for integration with business intelligence tools.
- Provide technical recommendations for data integration strategies while maximizing use of the client's existing Microsoft ecosystem (Azure, SharePoint, Power BI, and Copilot).
- Collaborate closely with the BI Developer and Project Manager to ensure data deliverables directly support custom dashboards and training materials.
- Contribute to key project deliverables, including the data assessment report and overall execution plan.
- 8–12 years of progressive experience in data architecture, data modeling, enterprise data management, and transformation initiatives.
- Demonstrated expertise in data assessment, metadata management, and building common data frameworks in complex, multi-source environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft data tools (Power BI, Azure, SharePoint) and working with relational and non-relational data sources.
- Excellent analytical, facilitation, and senior-level stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to translate complex technical data challenges into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Prior federal government or consulting experience on data modernization or business intelligence initiatives.
- Experience with facilities, personnel, asset management, or similar operational data domains.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) for data cataloging and transformation.
